Alice in the Fossil Garden
Monochromatic drawing made with a blue gel pen, on July 4, 2025, measuring 21x29.7cm. The work is inspired by several things the artist likes very much. It is inspired by the patios of Cordoba (Spain) by the pots of geraniums on a wall of a ruined place just to the left. Above the geraniums, you can see enormous Monstera deliciosa climbing from the other side of the wall. Next to the geraniums, you can see two walls hidden by tropical vegetation (Ficus Elastica, Alocasia Macrorrhiza, Caythea Cooperi, Archontopheonix Alexandrae, Pandanus Utilis, Cordiline australis, Araucaria Excelsa...etc.) inspired by the Park of Malaga. Between the two walls, there is a huge apatosaurus inspired by Littlefoot (character from The Land Before Time). The dinosaur is serenely moving its neck and tail constantly (as if expressing that it wants to enter the garden). Meanwhile, at the bottom of the artwork, Alice (inspired by Alice in Wonderland) is near a riverbank, helping the bird in her arms to fly. The river is filled with lifeless floating shells and ammonites, while to the left, two small dinosaurs (small theropods) can be seen trying to climb onto the floating fossil. (This last scene could be inspired by a scene from Alice's story (when Alice encountered the Dodo in the middle of the sea).
